Northern Algeria has a Mediterranean climate, with a relatively mild and rainy winter, and temperatures between 21-24 degrees Celsius in summer and 02-12 degrees Celsius in winter. As for the plateaus, their rainfall is less than the north, their winters are snowy with coldness below zero degrees Celsius sometimes. Their summers are dry and hot. As for the south, its climate is desert, with refreshing nights, its summers are above 50 degrees Celsius, carrying the sirocco winds (known as the Shehili), and its winters are interspersed with seasonal rains. The rainfall rate in the north is estimated at 400-600 mm annually, increasing from west to east, reaching its maximum in the northeast of the country at a rate of 2493 mm in the Zitouna region in Skikda province.

■It is a sovereign Arab state located in North Africa.
