American actor David Soul has died at the age of
80. Saul is best known for his role as Detective Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson on the popular 1970s TV series “Starsky and Hutch.”
Sol's wife, Helen Snell, announced his death, noting that he was surrounded by his loving family. Sol, who acquired British citizenship in 2004, was known for his passion for life and his touching smile.
In his artistic career, Saul formed a distinguished duo with Paul Michael Glaser in the series “Starsky and Hutch.” They played police officers in the fictional city of Bay City, which contributed to the series' popularity.
Soul also turned to music at the height of his fame, recording five albums. In 2004, a film adaptation of the series was produced, starring Owen Wilson as Saul.
